Sales Director, Military Europe and Mideast (m/w/d)

We seek an experienced business development professional to identify, qualify and close new opportunities in the military sector within the EU, United Kingdom, and the Mideast.

The position will be an employee of UFA’s German subsidiary, ATCSim and will report to UFA’s Senior Director of ATC Sales.


 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Own the full cycle of business development activities associated with selling UFA simulation products and services to the UK, European, and Mideast military market
    • Identifying and qualifying leads
    • Leveraging existing relationships and knowledge of target customer budget processes
    • Conducting presentations and demonstrations
    • Meeting with potential customers to understand business requirements and position UFA to capture new business
    • Bid management
      • RFP analysis including contract terms and conditions and compliance requirements
      • Proposal writing and coordination of inputs from other UFA departments
      • Pricing analysis
      • Final bid packaging and submittal
    • Identify Bid partners and agents and negotiate teaming agreements when necessary
    • Manage post-award activities from contract negotiation through kickoff meeting/handoff to project delivery manager
  • Provide feedback to product developers from experience in the field with current and new customers
  • Actively grow the company’s existing customer business through new opportunities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Aviation and Defense Prime Contractors in order to position UFA for teaming opportunities
  • Develop and manage accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics
  • Take on civil aviation opportunities when appropriate
  • achelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent education and experience. Technical degree desirable
  • 5+ years in a Business Development role within the Aviation and Defense Market, or substantial experience in a key decision-making role within target customer base that candidate can effectively leverage to move into the private sector
  • Preference given to candidates with existing customer relationships with domain-relevant buyers in targeted military market segments, especially NATO militaries
  • Preference given to candidates with existing Air Traffic Control subject matter expertise
  • Candidates must demonstrate fluency in English and at least one European language
  • Strong teamwork, sales, and communication skills required
  • Excellent proposal writing skills
  • Approximately 50% travel required 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent education and experience. Technical degree desirable
  • 5+ years in a Business Development role within the Aviation and Defense Market, or substantial experience in a key decision-making role within target customer base that candidate can effectively leverage to move into the private sector
  • Preference given to candidates with existing customer relationships with domain-relevant buyers in targeted military market segments, especially NATO militaries
  • Preference given to candidates with existing Air Traffic Control subject matter expertise
  • Candidates must demonstrate fluency in English and at least one European language
